Our black bags made their debut in the 1980s and is therefore a rather new color in our line of bags. At the time, the imagery of black was akin to mourning. However, it was decided to make black bags that could be used by anyone and match any outfit.
The main characteristic of the S-14 is its roundish design. Due to its small size, the S-14 is sometimes considered to be a bag for women and children. Occasional feedback from our male customers is, “Great design; but too small.”
However, it is in its smallness that lies its distinct advantages.
The old-fashioned woven name tag of Ichizawa Hanpu bears our shop address. It is our guarantee of our product follow-up and indicates that you can bring your bag to our shop for repairs. This spirit of serving our customers still lives on today.
The S-27 features our original Kanji character for bag on the front. This shoulder bag was released to commemorate the 110th anniversary of Ichizawa Shinzaburo Hanpu. The idea was the brainchild of a craftsperson, who commutes to work by bicycle.
Most of our standard bags from old that carry the Ichizawa Hanpu brand tag, were made to meet the needs of various professionals such as carpenters, plasters, electricians, as well as liquor shop owners. Some distinctive bags that may not be found in other shops such as those used to carry ice or milk bottles are still made at our shop.
