Our timeless money collection clutch bag

Our timeless money collection clutch bag

The No. 62 clutch bag is characterized by its clean-cut lines and leather handle. It features a clean triangular silhouette when viewed from the side. When you slide open the zipper, you'll find pockets and pen holders inside making it highly organizable.

The bag's clean-cut lines reflect the uncompromising craftsmanship of the crafts people.
When making a standard bag, the craftspeople first sew the body and bottom of the bag together. The bag is then carefully turned inside out and shaped by pounding with a wooden mallet. However, this bag's body and gusset are sewn together from the outside resulting in good shape retention.

The No. 62 clutch bag was originally made in the 1930s to be used for due payment collection.
At the time, quite a few people collected money using their bicycles as their mode of transportation. Therefore, the bag was designed so that it could hang from its leather strap from the collector's wrist, making it easy for them to maneuver their bicycles as well as effective against purse snatchers.

Due to the simplicity of the design, it lends itself perfectly for daily use, regardless of gender or age. The bags come in two sizes: small and medium.

The permanent collection is a selection of items chosen by the staff of BRUTUS based on their experience and discernment of items that are timeless and perfect unto themselves.

The bag continues to be made by Ichizawa's craftspeople without any change in shape from then until this day.
